Resin Art is created with the Alcohol Ink as well as mica powders for interesting shimmer! The designs are abstract and free form.
I use Resin on tiles to use for hot cups, clocks, magnets and decorative pieces.
The Resin is UV and heat resistant. After creating the design the Resin needs to set up for a couple of weeks after pouring.
What sets this apart from the Alcohol Ink selections is that I mix the Alcohol Ink into the Resin and then do a controlled pour over the surface. Since the Ink it is transparent you can see through to the underneath layers. In creating the Bird's Eye View of ocean scenes I pour several layers of Resin mix to achieve a 3D effect. I will also add abalone and shells to create an interesting design.
I use a torch to heat the Resin to remove any air bubbles that appear. A lacing effect is also achieved by using the torch.
I suggest that any Alcohol Ink design remain out of direct sunlight as it can fade even under UV resin.
The designs on 1/8" Tile can be framed. Designs on Canvas or Masonite (with a depth of 1/2" to 2") are unframed.
