Products in the Shop

Even though I no longer have a retail store I still think that it is important for you to know where to purchase brushes. These are the ones I recommend.

Sable Short Hair Blender

Description: These are the type of brushes that I like to use: Shaders, Brights,Chisel Blenders (they go by different names depending on the manufacturer). They have hair that is shorter so that blending can be smoother and more controlled. The sable will hold up better but are more expensive. I am now using brushes from Scharff. Order from artbrush.com. I am also using Sherry Nelson brushes. Order from sherrycnelson.com.

Synthetic Short Hair Blenders

Description: These are the type of brushes that I like to use - shorter bristles. The synthetic work very well but will wear out faster. I am now using brushes from Scharff. Order from artbrush.com.

Rake Brushes

Description: My favorite brush to blend with is the Filbert Rake Brush. Loew-Cornell brand is no longer being made so I have switched to Scharff. Their rake is called Filbert Comb. I like the Filbert as it does not have a chisel edge and, therefore, does not leave a line behind like the square rake does. Sizes that I use the most is 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". Order from artbrush.com.

JoSonja Brush Cleaner and Conditioner

Description: There are many products on the market to clean brushes and I have tried nearly all of them! This is by far my favorite go-to soap. It will not only clean brushes that have just been used but will take out dried-in paint after soaking! Also perfect for your expensive sable brushes! Conditions them and no flyaway hair!
